Is PHP good for parsing XML

I got huge data in xml format, is PHP is the right language to use ? If it is what will be the best parser available for it... I am searching a lot but i am unable to find one.. ( I know a lot for Java but not for PHP )

I am also not sure whether to use database or XML ???

Please suggest me

PS : xml file i got has more then 5 MB and it increases..

Hit the "Articles" tab at the top of this page. There are several on XML.

A 5mb file sounds like something that should be in a database imho.

If your XML file is 5 MB you maybe would consider a better information architecture (or consider a database). You also could use SAX2 to process it in smaller chunks.
