undefined function : zip_open()

hi,
I am trying to read contents form a zip folder at the server end using zzip library functions but it says when I try to read the zip file it says..

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zip_open() in /..../dirupl/php_ftp.php4 on line 18

Why is it giving this error can anyone tell me .Thanks in Advance ..

If you look at the zip_open manpage on php.net;

(PHP 4 >= 4.1.0)

Wich means you need version 4.1.0 or higher of PHP. This is probably what is causing your trouble. (In other words, get the newest PHP package.)
