Bounced Email Deletions

I currently have an email list of nearly 20,000 which is becoming overwhelming to manage. The primary issue is that of being able to automatically delete names from my mysql database that are returned.

It would be ideal to put the names in a reserved category for a couple additional mailings to confirm that they have become bad addresses. This is now done manually and is very time consuming.

I am sure others face this problem and have already addressed it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had to do something ver similar. ANy bouncebacks from our mailing list are pushed to a certain folder in outlook. These emails are then exported as csv data. I then have a script that strips out all the mail addresses from this file, then another script to delete records with these addresses from the database. The hardest part is the script to strip the mail addresses out of the csv file, let me know if you want a copy.

Check elzm mailing list manager. It works together with qmail, and it's really great.
