Hiding Urls from the address bar

Hi,

I need to hide the entire path of the url being shown in the address bar. The user should only be able to view the domain and not the entire structure of my directories.

For eg: www.yourcompany.com instead of www.yourcompany.com/test/cookie/first.htm
or
www.yourcompany.com/test/cookie/second.htm

Any help would be appreciated.

that is possible, but not recommended because the users can't bookmark the selected site:

in index.html make a frameset with 1 col and 1 row and all subsites are shown in that frameset and in the address bar is only the address of the frameset (www.xyz.com) visible.

additionaly you could build an check, if someone calls a subpage, redirect to the frameset page

Use a FRAMESET with two frames. Then, the navigator will show the URL of the FRAMESET, not of the FRAME window. You can make one of the frames with 0px width, and no one will see it. Then navigate through the FRAME window. The URL shown will be that of the FRAMESET.

Another alternative is to use a general page and pass it an id eg www.mypage.com/index.html?id=3452

then 3452 is found in a switch or else from a database table with a pointer to a real page, that page is included. The user has a page they can bookmark but no idea on the actual structure of your site.
