Is there a way in which a php script can be compiled to run e.g like for ASP and DLL's
If there is a way can it be possible to run the scripts using the apache server or on an
IIS server?

i don't know about on windows, but on a *NIX box, if you have PHP compiled as a CGI, you can run scripts from the command line. I believe you lose some features doing it this way, however.

Anyone who's got it set up this way want to comment? I've only ever used PHP as an Apache module, myself.
