connect two databse at a time ??

hi all,

I have got tow database, holding diffrent tables. what if I want to open two connection at a time.

Like if I want to transfer some data from databse1 to databse2 then what would be the possible select statement?

how could i maintain two connections at a time and run the seperate select statements for both ??

insert / select statement. Use dot notation if tables are in seperate dbs.
Not sure, but I think persistant connections slow the server. Might want to make first connection- select with where, open a while loop, make second select on db.table- using a where (limit, or whatever), close while loop.
