PHP with Flashmenu

Hi!

I have a question that I've been searching an answer for, for a long time...

I'm a newbie with PHP, so I started with a template I found here. It was supposed to work instead of frames, and it does, of course.

When I expand the "Produkt" and goes to another frame in the flashmovie, where the link "hylla" is, I want the tree to maintain it's appearence, when clicked upon. What happens is that new content is loaded - AS WELL AS the content in the leftnav.htm - i.e. the flashmovie, which is then rewinded to frame 1.

I think the solution might lie with caching the leftnav.htm, or pwerhaps with cookies, or sessions. I don't really know how to test it either. I don't think the answer lies in the flashmovie itself - it's actionscript, since the whole PHP page is refreshed when clicking the link. Therefore I thought the solution might lie in the PHP-code.

am I wrong? Any suggestions?

I use the class.fasttemplates.php

and have also the class.cachefasttemplates.php if the solution has something to do with caching.

Well, every time your flash movie loads, it starts, it starts at frame 1. The solutions are:

Either put some actionscript on your page to move the movie to the appropriate page based on the current php page. Read up on actionscript: http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials.shtml

OR you could use frames. If I were you, I would try the actionscript first. Otherwise, just create a frameset with the flah movie in the left frame and the content in the right. You would need to change the flash movie's targets to the right frame.

Other solutions: you could create different movies for each page, and then use a php script to determine which one to put on that page. Each movie would be the same, but with a different group opened.

Or... You could dynamically generate the flash movie from a php script. (Look at Ming: opaque.net/ming/). But that's probably not the right solution for what you're doing. Any question? ask!

The frame solution, is a solution, but that's where I came from, and thought PHP templates would work better than frames or at least have other options that were good.

I thought of the making one movie for each template, but, then it would require to much work, and other solutions than flash would have been as good.

I will check out the actionsscript suggestion. Perhaps it will suit my needs.
