Yes it is possible to make as many databases as you wish - HOWEVER it is important to note that some web hosting companies limit you to one or maybe even two databases. This presents a problem, not a big problem, but yet a problem indeed.
If you are limited to one database, you will be stuck with that one database and a hell of alot of tables with that one database. This in itself is not a problem, BUT it is hard to keep track of about 70-80 tables. It is much easier to have several databases, like one for Profiles, another for Tournament Schedules and another for Feedback. It helps you organize, because each database may have 10 tables in it, but if you are limited to one, you will have 1 database with 30 tables in it- it just helps to organize things a bit better.
Check with your service provider to see what they allow and if there is an extra cost involved with it.
