include DOM lib on page by page basis

I've seen a php command that loads a library with a .so extension on a page by page basis ??? I don't have PHP compiled with dom and would like to try it first, and wondered if it was possible to download the library and to include it on the page I want to use it on..

know what I mean? is it possible?

you can, though using Dynamic Loading will hurt your page speed.
