storing member information

Hey Guys!

I don't know if this is too broad of a question but I just got an idea but am not sure of how to implement it. I am in the process of creating a fully interactive club. I am using mysql and have a table for links and members. The members sign up and if they have a website the link is placed in the members and links tables.

Right now the members can just view or visit the links, but would there be a way for them to specify certain ones as favorites and each time they log in to the site their favorite links appear somewhere on that main page?

I'm not sure how I would store that...or what I would need to do to accomplish this.

I'm kind of new to all this but am learning as I go! 🙂

Sounds like a good idea. You'll need a third table, each row would contain an id from the members table and an id of a favorite link from the links table. Don't store the actual link in the new table, just an id; that way if the link ever changes you only have to update one place.
