i am having trouble with the way my table looks when called from the database to a browser
below is the way it looks

1 2002-03-22 $250.00 NES COMPUTER LAPTOP
2 2002-03-22 $100.00 hard drive
3 2002-03-22 65.00 monitor
4 2002-03-23 700.00 desktop computer

what i am trying to get is a bit more spaced out, with each row in an alternate coloured table - spaved both horizontal and vertical
also centered in the page.

i have tried different suggestions from people , but not the result i want.

below is the line of code i was told to work with to get the effect i want.

echo $aRow['computersniagaraID'].' '.$aRow['computersniagaraDate'].' '.$aRow['computersniagaraCost'].' '.$aRow['computersniagaraText']."<br>";

can anyone here offer some suggestions please?

Mark - i'm not sure i follow you there
why wouldn't i want it in an HTML table
i do not want just a typed list of items so to speak

I think you should get line by line of your database as seperate variables or in an array and then create a table and in each row you could paste the correspnding line. If you want it to have different columns too, get the database variablke by variable and put it into the table. If you know HTML, you could edit the rows or columns. If you don't, use frontpage and save it as a .php file then go into notepad and paste the php. Frontpage gets messed up when I have php in it.

Try something like this. It can be simplified and you can specify the table cell widths and colors etc.
