Newbie PHP/Database Question

I am trying to get my feet wet with data driven websites using PHP, but unfortunately I rent space on a server that does not support mySql. I was curious to know if it's possible to put an Access Database online and be able to query it through PHP code. All the info i've seen talks about Microsoft's IIS, but I don't have access to the server to be installing anything. Basically I am looking to see if there are any alternative methods. Any info you could give me would be great. Thanks, Marshall

If you\'re hosted on a MS box, it has built in ODBC for connecting to MS Access DB\'s if you are on nix, they would have to have ODBC drivers installed. AFAIK, there are no free ODBC drivers for nix.
