Password Webpage Help

This is probably gonna sound dumb but I wanted to try out the password code on my webpage from one of the javascript tutorials, something went wrong and now I'm unable to access my page. The password box keeps appearing even though I type in the password, and when I click cancel I'm taken to the javascript tutorial. After you guys stop laughing, can you tell me how I can open my webpage to that I can get a its' code and change it? I can get my page in Netscape but my Netscape browser doesn't have the capability to change the code (I use Internet Explorer). Thanks.

Look for where it loops. Most likely its in a loop so reguardless what you put in its going to go into this loop and not go forward. Then when you click "Cancel" it will take you to a website. What the website that it takes you to copy the http:// whatever. Then do a find on it and see where in the code it is. Just use some comon sense and find out where the loop is. 🙂 Sorry can't help more. Lata!

You can't Edit your html? I assume that means the page is on your hard drive. Just open notepad or wordpad and open the html file.

If you use frontpage etc, then open frontpage and then File->Open... your html file!

Once you get there, just delete the javascript. If you're thinking about password-protecting your page with JavaScript, think again!! You'll need a server side scripting language. (Like PHP)

Also, this is a PHP message board not JavaScript or HTML, so don't post questions like that here.

That's just it I'm unable to get at the code.
You said open the webpage from notepad. How do I do that? As far as I know webpages can't be opend in notepad.

Hope it's not too late for you to get this:

Open notepad

File -> Open

Near the bottom of the box, Files of Type: should be set to 'All files (.)'.

Then navigate to the directory with the html file in it. Open it, and then edit!
