Little problem here

Hi...

hope this question haven't been post...
if so i'm very sorry and if you can tell me the links to the answer...

My question is :

I used Php 4.0.6 with apache server under Win2k pro...
all was ok... than we switch server
now it's win2k server... and now we're using IIS 5.0 with Php 4.1.2 (latest)

and when I try to use the mail function...
it gives me the following error

Warning: Unknown error in E:\blabla.html on line 11

wich line 11 is the mail function...

anyone knows why... with the apache server I got error like unable to contact server... something like this... I resolve that..

but unknown error... dunno the source...

1) Shouldn't you be executing the code from http://localhost instead of your E: drive?

2) How come the file is .html? Shouldn't it be a php file in order to use the php mail function?

You can set php to run with html files with an .htaccess file or an apache config file (or and IIS config I'm guessing...)

If you haven't already noticed, when an error is printed, it's path is on the filesystem, not an http path.

So, there's nothing wrong with it as far as I can tell. I'm not familiar with IIS, so... Have you checked and double checked the php.ini file? is it set to allow the mail function? Sorry I can't help much.

I'll recheck .ini file again...

I'm using a test file...
in this html doc I only do

mail("address@asdfasdf", "test", "test");

and yes I use .html cause I configured it that way in IIS, instead of giving the extion .php I gave .html .

There is no problem with my php coding besides the mail function....
