how the updated info without refresh

Hi,

Currently I have a page, which will auto refresh using <meta> tag after n second.

Now i trying to do is, when user come to this page, all the information will update after N second, but without refreshing the page. Using javascript to do it? or does anyone have any idea how to do it?

You could use javascript to open a minimized window or a window in another frame that runs your update query.

So your question basically is: "How can I load something else without loading something else"...

What's so bad about refreshing the page?
