how do i login to the server ?

I installed MySql23 on a Win2000 server.
I want to use it on a win98 terminal.
From the tutorial i understand that i should type the following command:

c:\mysql\bin mysql -h host -u user -p

"Server" is the Win2000 platform to which i am connected as a win98 terminal/
"Host" is MySql installed on the above mentioned Win2000 server.

My questions:
1.How do i name an hostname? Or is it the Server's name in the local network?
2.How do i add myself as a user to the host? or is the username i use to contact the server in the LAN?
3.How do i get a password to the host? or is it the password i already use to contact the win200 server?

2. reed MySql (not 2000) manual you need connect access to some user and allow him to select, insert,.. in some databases
3. it's in second step you make it your self
