ideal page execution time?

what should i be aiming for really? "the faster the better", i know ... but do any of you benchmark and aim for a maximum page parse time?

depends on how many page hits you're expecting to see.

as long as a page isn't causing performance problems for the rest of the system then its running fast enough.

The 'ideal' time is irrelevant because that is always 'as fast as possible'.

More importantly, are you happy about the speed or is it causing you 'snowball' problems where the execution of one script is delaying the execution of another which slows down the third etc untill you have 400 processes competing for the CPU's attention?

All my pages run at -1000000000 seconds, that's faster than the speed of light and also keeps my server processes from hogging up too much CPU and RAM since each processes exact location in space time is for the most part indeterminable.

But my webserver is actually a mass of ultracompressed quarks that calculates on a wavephase of every possiblity which is in concise terms, every calculation between 0 and 1 simultaneously. This handily eleminates the need for a hard drive and databases... since everything is written to a moment in space time of questionable existance and indefinite proportion.

Kinda cool to write code on a machine that your never sure really exists.
