newbie question

Ok, I think I have had a major brainfart somewhere. I have apache running with php going. I can view the website if I go by http://ipaddress/index.php but how can I get it to be default? Like they go to http://address and it shows up? Any ideas or is my brain just fried from lack of sleep? Thank you in advance.

This is done with your apache conf files. It is specifically the httpd.conf file. You want to do a search for index.html it will come up with a result and you will see where you can simply duplicate lines and make it index.htm , index.php , index.whatever. Then restart your server and it will pick up those new lines. 🙂 All clean and ready to go!
