perhaps a bit off topic but as you all are busy in the same field.

You hear all those stories about sofware that is not running well on windows XP. What are the experiences of those who already switched to XP?

especially Dreamweaver Ultradev 1.0, Flash, Photoshop 6.0, etc. but also sofware in general, is it a serious problem?

My personal experience with XP is that XP is just as good/bad as win2k, except that XP has a shitload more overhead from that 'my fist sony' interface.

I'm sticking with win2k (and linux and solaris ofcourse)

I am still on 98,

I don't want to find myself stuck with a new system still running 98 and all this new software coming out which is not supported anymore by 98.

A lot of people think ME will sort of drop back and both xp and 98 will becoming the best supported operating systems.

any thoughts?

ME SUCKS. Simple as that. I am sorry to be so haste but it is true. Nothing works on ME. XP is ok, but I like WIN2K, or NT. But if I were you scrap WIN and go to Linux, Unix, Solaris, Red Hat or any other forms of Linux or Unix. Thats just my $.02.

hey, if yr going to evangelize nix, don't forget macintosh. os x has the largest install base of any nix, is a full bsd implementation that can even run yr xwindow apps and has a useable gui to boot. if you want to run *nix but need to use ms word and photoshop, mac is yr only real option.
