methodologies and designing tools???

hello guys,
Firstly i would like to apologize for posting this ques on the forum coz i don;t know where can i post it. So let start my question. i am a student of a college and i need some help on the type methodologies that is used to develop e-commerce sites. First, can anyone pls recommend any methodologies that best fits on the development of e-commerce sites? and secondly, i would to know what are the best designing tools fits when i use PHP as my scripting laguage. I did tries out rational rose, but i find it doesn't really suit the usage for PHP, so is there any tools that u guys recommend. IF possible plz provide me the links.

if you're looking for a uml tool then i'd suggest heading over to freshmeat.net and searching for "rational rose". you won't find rational rose, but there will be a lot of products designed to be similar to rational rose... thorn is one of the more popular ones.

my approach to uml is different... i write my code first and then run this script i wrote against it to make my umls afterwards 🙂

so u use UML to design your program. what about the methodologies like those SDLC, RUP, SPIRAL MODELS and so on..I did heard about INTERNET/INTRANET METHODoLOGY..but information is limited on the net. IS there any other models that suits the development for e-commerece?
