I am currently using PHPEdit to build my php scripts, I used to use PHPEd. I prefer the features in PHPEdit but it is very buggy.

Does anyone know a good stable php editor that I could try. What do you use?

I use Allaire HomeSite which is realy a HTML editor, but you can build and configure it in all the ways you want.

Search for PHPCoderPro. It is free and nice to edit PHP.

If you need the debugging features of PHPEdit you could try Maguma Studio Light (free) from www.maguma.com, which uses the same dbg php extension. The new version of PHPEd is costly, but there is still an older free version floating around the net (www.soysal.com if memory serves me right).

If you don't need debugging i'd fully reccommend either EditPlus or Homesite.

Its pretty light-weight, stable and you can use plugins for PHP which will provide things like highlighting PHP sysntax, Help files.

Hey Kevin,

Yeah, I agree. HTML Kit is a strong peice of work. For being free, he/she/they did a great job. I expect to see it rise to somewhere near the top of the heap as development proceeds.

Perhaps they should create a Linux version as that's where I work most of the time.

That said, I like (in Linux) CoolEdit, Anjuta (for the Objective C stuff that I'm learning), Nano, and BlueFish.
