I agree, but this board in a way HAS to be simple.. Imagine how large the database for this thing is.. and if they add a bunch of "Bells and whistles" it won't run very fast anymore

I agree with Dean here. This board has to follow the KISS rule; Keep It Simple Stupid. People have problems working stuff in PHP, they don't need problems working a message board, too. 🙂

Sorry but the facts are facts. I don't see how you can think you know php and not be able to work this forum thats like knowing how to drive a car but not knowing how to push the gas petal. I mean come on. It's a nie board and i don't understand why you are critisizing it (spelling but who gives). It wouldn't be the same phpbuilder.com that we know and love if you changed it to some retarded forum system like ikon. "you guys" have given up on phpbuilder a long time ago, there's nobody actually maintaining it anymore.

Apart from that, this forum is perfectly simple, and works like a charm.

The only major drawback is that the only way to find out wether someone has replied to a thread is by navigating to that thread.
Very annoying.

Luckaly YAPF does have email-notification of new replies, and a cute overview of the latest replies in threads you have replied/posted in.

A forum, a FAQ, email notification, what else do you need?

YEA I agree skripty. I think its great that this board is simple. I hate (With a passion) other sites that use a premade forum (i.e. Vbuilliten, Koni(or something like that)) so just write your own forum. I know its easy to just get one but comon flex your own muscels. Ok I <b>cannot</b> spell! This forum does follow the KISS rule. It could use a little color change but other than that its all good with me.

That's a major upgrade in and of itself.
And lord knows that PHP accounts for 99% of the porn sites on the web, so banner ad upgrades are essential.

Personally, I've talked to Tim (the flounder of this here board-thang) and not only is he an ABSOLUTE PRICK, but a total idiot as well.

As for Tim, he seemed knowledgable enough when he was running phpbuilder, he just sold it to the wrong guys, probably because be wanted to get rid of it and could give a hoots ass about who bought it.

On the other hand, seeing how internet.com is treating phpbuilder, I'd say they were not that desperate to take it over, and they probably didn't want to pay much for it either.

Maybe you should write an FAQ: "business deals for dummies" :-)
