How to increase session.gc_maxlifetime..

Hi,

I am working on this server running Unix which is not mine. Its a from a webhosting provider. The problem is that I can't change session.gc_maxlifetime from php.ini as I have no access to it. Is there any ways that I can use the script in this article to increase session.gc_maxlifetime? Please advice..
