Acces once higher leven

Any off you know if this is possible. If i would run a board and there are 5 levels you can become. Newbie, Newbie+, Advanced User, Advanced User+ and ALmighty.

Now i want to protect ONE part off the board so only peeps that get the level of Advanced User+ and above can enter it. This however needs to be fully automated.

I know you can setup a board to after 50 posts give someone a higher level, is there something similar to give someone automaticly access to protected parts???

Please i am not familiar at all with Php but just need to know if its possible and direction where to search for something like that.

OK, first what is the criteria for getting to the next level. Second, are you going to require users to log on to the system?

oke this is how it should look as i still didnt do anything yet and looking around what the posibilities are. [sorry for bad english]

I want to have 5 level's like

Newbie
Newbie level good
Newbie advanced
Profesionnal
Master

Now at this moment its possible to automaticly after someone post 50 [or whatever is setup] posts to go from Newbie to Newbie level good and so on.

I dont want the user to sign in few time. Just once to register and as some kind off suprise after one level higher to be able to visit another place within a board. But this needs to be automated as it will be a busy place.

Hope i cleared it up a bit and you get the idea.

Before i forget. The suprise part needs to be hidden for the lowest in rang so to speak. He/she has to earn to go up so to speak.

So how would you tell who holds which rank if they do not log-in and the server does not know who they are? I understand the concept. I just think you would need to have some sort of way to tell the server that when user A logs in they are at X level as far as access goes. I understand not wanting to log-in all the time but you might have to give that one up.

Well the login isnt a problem bud. I mean at this moment people have to login anyway.

the above part is the one i need info about how to do this. and specially that the server knows that user X is higher then A and he may view 3 boards in stead off 1.

Well then you would need to set-up a DB for access levels and users and on the main page where the user chooses the boards, you would have conditional statements that would take input from the DB and you would decide which baord links to show or not depending on their access level. Does this sound OK?
Or am I still missing something?

Yes that was what i ment but seems not done, as people would need to login everytime they want to visit the board.

And i cant think off a way that the board would monitor when someone is level higher and automaticly change the rights.
