Encrypt password to 8 chars

Hey all,

I have a little problem here.. i need to encrypt a 4 character string and be able to decrypt it later on. The result may not be longer as 8 characters so i cant use md5.. anyone has a good idea?

try $password2=password($password); i dunno maybe that will help i hope so...

Why do you need to decrypt it?

Actually you can set up your own encryption and decryption. Just play with the string. Simple way would be place random characters between the letters the reverse the string. To decrypt it remove the random characters by ignoring every second character then reverse the string again. Be creative and set up your own encyrption.
