I have done all my developments using early php 4 version, I´ve read that new 4.2 will treat gobal varibles differently, will this affect my scripts in some way or not?

No, they won´t. You need to modify some .conf files to cancel PHP from creating global varibles.
thank you Niklas, but from what you say I guess I need to have control over the server, if my scripts are placed in a remote host will they change the .conf file? this will affect the rest of pages with the brand new 4.2 on it?
