PHP/Flash - the % character

I have a flash movie that uses a php file to get the main news, and show them one by one. The matter is that when I have a news title with the % character, this character don´t appear in the text, just like it doesn´t exist.
I tried the addslashes() function, but it didn´t work, of course!
I really don´t know what else could it be... if you can help me...
