XHTML and applets

Hiya, I have a page that I want to validate to w3c xhtml strict DTD. Everything on it is fine except for one thing - i can't find the proper syntax to embed a java applet using the object tag.

If anyone knows how to do this and conform to these standards then please let me know - I have searched many sites and come up with nothing 🙁

is classid the attribute you're looking for?

Well - i sort of figure it is. But the examples i've seen and applied to the site haven't worked. At least they haven't worked in IE - Maybe the syntax was wrong or i missed something but there must be a way to show a strict DTD applet?!?!
