Add to database and popup?

Hello again!

Well, I got the ID check script to work (thanks Jon, John, and Aaron!) and have a couple more questions:

1. Is there anyway to set it up so that when they type in their desired user ID and click the button the result opens in a new small popup window?

2. How would I go about configuring my signup page so when they submit the form, the results are emailed to me and their info is added to the database? (I approve all members before they are added to the member's section but want to cut out the step of manually adding them after approval).

1. Use javascript to create the popup. look at how I handle newsletters at propertyinvestor.co.nz

2. the php code which is called in the new window can perform any number of tasks including:

   • inserting records into the database
   • emailing you
   • outputting a message to the visitor

just run them one after the other.

Well,
I've got the javascript written so that it is calling the check id script but it's not passing the value from the text field to the new window...how do I do that?
