I've been building a site using php/mysql. About a month ago the server hosting the site updated the php version, they're running 4.2.1 safe mode.

The problem that I have, since the upgrade, is that the php compiler doesn't react to variables posted in the adress field in the browser...

Does anyone have any idea what can couse this kind of problem? Please help, I'm getti ng desperat!

the default option of "register_globals" is Off in 4.2.1. So u need to use $POST["var"]/$GETS["var"] rather than $var to get back the value.
