gd library installation

hello,

well, i just cant seem to get my head around the installation of the gd library to my windows system. like the italian girl, whos problem is alot like mine, i get the error message that the imagecreate() or other functions are not understood so the image is not created. please please please could someone give me some really basic instructions so that i can get this thing up and running.

First see if GD is installed with phpinfo(); and you sould get some
gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version 1.6.2 or higher
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled

If you don't get this see pour php.ini file anche check for the presence of the required dll files.
If this is ok, get the documentation and try a simple example from there.
