session.save_path

hi,
I have had to utilize a session for an admin section for my news script (which I will release to the public very soon... next couple days hopefully - I feel my script will rival Coranto 😃)

now, for time purposes, I am running Apache with PHP on Windows XP so I don't have to update to a webserver for every little change I make to my script.

any way, for my session to work I had to change the session.save_path setting in PHP.ini . Since I plan to be releasing this script to the public, I am wondering, do most servers have this setting set?

You can use a

session_save_path("temp");

or whatever the dir you use, directly on code. I suggest you use an include file where you start session and add the script at the beginning of all files. This way, you can always change the dir where sessions are stored.

I use this way. Never touch php.ini for that.

yes, thank you very much for this command. I was actually hoping there would be a piece of code I could use to avoid altering the php.ini
