PHP Help Needed - Setting up

I had to reinstall php on my win2000 system and now it looks like the php variables in the header don't work

IE: www.test.com/page.php?id=3

but when I upload it to my server it works fine and dandy, so I know its just a local setup but I don't know where to look

any help would be great, thanks!!!

actually I just searched on this board and found out it was the register_globals variable in my php.ini file
it was off..

it works now! whoo hooo

A the register globals var is switched off by default.

You're better of keeping it switched off as having it on opens up a security issue.

It may mean that you have to re-write your scripts
