flash php html

I recently ran into this problem for wich no answers seem present at the
internet.

Ive got a flash webapp wich is fed by php/mysql.
there's a maintenance page similair to the main app.
When i post a record sending text to the database i submit it with a
multiline selectable non html supported textfield so i can add html
tags wich then can be interpreted and displayed by the html suported textfield in
the main application.
But when i modify the record, flash or maby php/mysql automatically
adds these <br /> tags causing the text to be badly displayed.
Is this a feature i can turn off or does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Try to use the htmlSpecialChars() on it first.

wild guess: somewhere in your processing script there is a nl2br() function. thus, it will add a break <br> after each line of the input form.

look for it and comment it out and try again.
