scripts still not working with PHP-4.2.1

Look this is crazy... I've reinstalled PHP-4.2.1 3 times and Apache2 twice. I have my php layout, apache2 layout and php.ini path defined in a different place then my apache1.3.24/ PHP-4.1.2 and still can not get any of my scripts to work... what is different about PHP-4.2.1. Basic stuff like date or global commands work... just not written scripts. I've tried my scripts example scripts nothing... Should the globals be turned on? Does anyone have Apache2 and PHP-4.2.1 working? This is crazy...

In your php.ini file:

1. Make Error Reporting

error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

2. Make Register Globals

register_globals = On

3. Learn how to script without either of the two above.

if (isset($_POST["variablename1"])) {
//this is a posted variable

echo($_GET["variablename2"]);
//this is sent via the get method.

Note no $ in above variablenames.
