Page Loading

I have built a web site entirely using PHP and MYSQL.

When I click on a link on my web site the screen immediately goes blank (I'm using IE5.50) and there is a pause until the new page is generated and then displayed. During this time all the user gets is a blank screen.

Is there anyway to generate the page and then load it when it is ready without the page going blank first?

Could it because I am utilising a frame?

Well, I went to your site to see what you were talking about. Since I myself use strictly PHP and MySQL, these types of problems are of particular interest to me. Anyway, the following links is to a message that was posted in regards to improving the scrolling nature of pages... However, it applies in your case as well. I will repost a follow up to the message explaining in more detail, but check it out.

Essentially, what you have is the same problem I discuss in the posted message. Everything is grouped into one table, which means your entire page has to be built/downloaded before anything can be displayed.

But good job on the design. It looks very professional.

through the search i came across this topic which comes closest to my question...

the issue handled here is page loading in IE i presume.
well, i'm about to finish a new site

and when i click on a review or anything, the page goes blank when loading in IE, i don't really have a problem with that.

in Firefox however, the top table cells shift and stretch out to the right for a couple of seconds. and i kinda hate the sight of that. the top images are preloaded in a script
i tried disabling the top rotating banners too, but to no avail...

is this a preloading issue, or something else ?
