Matching I.P. Addresses...

Howdy Folks...

I am looking for a way to retrieve
and match someones I.P addresses against
some that are already stored on somefile
in my directories... If the I.P
address already exists, I deny him/her to
access of a particular page... I won't to
do this via I.P addresses as opposed to
Cookies... Are there php functions for
this?

matching ip addresses is not recommended. most people still use dial up connecions with a dynamic ip assigned from a pool by an isp. therefore it is unlikely that people with be assigned the same ip everytime...result you may block some users that don't need it and allow access to users that shouldn't get it...
best to use cookies or sessions.
