Lets say I'm an Internet Service Provider here.

I would like to track the time of my subscribers online. How do I do that? Or can I do it using PHP? Normally when somebody surf your website...you can track him/her using cookies....but the case here is different, the user is not surfing only one website. I would like to track the amount of time they were online regardless the site their surfing.

And another thing...how do I run scripts on my server automatically (autorun)?

Log the user name and IP address and the current time in a database. That is about the best you're gonna get on tracking usage.

As for running scripts automatically... Look into CRONTAB. A search on Google.com should suffice.

what you're asking is, once someone leaves your web site, how will you be able to keep track of them? there are a few ways, none of them very good: make a tiny frame so they are really still partially on your site... it will fail the moment they go to a site that breaks itself out of frames, however. or just download a little app to their computer that watches them. (bad, bad idea!)
