getting started

Hi, I want to be able to make a login form that enters the submissions to a database. My host uses MySQL and PHP.

I don't know where to start. I have Macromedia's Ultra Dev (haven't used it yet) and have been searching the net for tutorials on databases. CAn I use this software to make the connection to the database?

Am I heading in the right direction? I am totally confused.

there is a plug in for ultradev to use php...try www.macromedia.com to see if they have it there or a link to it.

best place to start is www.thickbooks.com...it is the companion site to the book "php essentials" y julie meloni...really good book to help get you started.

covers php language, mysql database and how to make them talk to each other...
