Yes you can store binary data in a db. I don't really recommend that as an approach . The size of a database that holds mp3s, especially if you are going to have alot (which a radio station should), is going to grow to an enormous size. You would need a really heavy weight db to handle this ($$$$$$$$). Leave your mp3s on disk, and keep the paths to the files in a database.
