testing sendmail

have sendmail-8.11.6-2.71 running on Redhat 7.1 server

/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail status say OK
ps ax | grep sendmail says accepting connections

trying to send a message from sendmail to my email account for ordinary
retreival with my email client

i issue the command

sendmail -t hello1 hello2 [e-mail]

LOST IT !!!!

checking var/log/maillog

everthing seems ok sent:[e-mail], status is sent but does say (OK: queued)

can anyone offer any guidance (new to sendmail)

Does your host/server know it IS mplaser.co.uk? And is the message getting out of the queue (mailq command)?

Also check the mail box of what ever user you're running the command as to see if there are any bounces or warnings.
