problems wit mkdir, symlink etc

i try this :

if(!mkdir($DOCUMENT_ROOT.$chemin,0775))

sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't..

i have made the "rights" screened.
sometimes it tells me that the directories is writable, and so it works.. sometimes the same directory is unwritable.. and it make a permission denied for the mkdir.. it is always the same configuration.. it s a new random function but it's ununderstandable for me..

if anyone know a bug on mkdir function or a way to debug this ... thanX to mail me at [e-mail]
