php4 and IIS5 not passing variables

Ho folks,

I've struggle with this for a while and cheked all the forums not to waste anyones time.
I've installed php4 with IIS5 and XP. All is well except variable passing. Phpinfo.php works ok, php.ini is in Windows/system and globals is set to On.
Variables are not being passed- any ideas?
I have set the IIS% managemnt tool comfig as per the Php.net set up considerations - using the Isapidll

paul, get specific: what does it mean 'variable passing is not working'?

how exactly are you passing variables from one script to another? form-based GET and POST? cookies? just appending the varibales to the PHP command line?

I'm guessing you may be running a recentr verision of PHP that doesnt' automatically register varibles; search the PHP docs for '$GET' and '$POST' and I'll bet you'll find what you need.

many thanks for your reply. Youa re correct I am running php4.2.1. I am not using Get and Post - when I do - it works.
The doc. seems to postively say that if you have register_globals On in php.ini there is no need to specify Get and Post etc...

I understand the potential security issues in having globals on but this a my machine only project.
