Why does win xp stop execution of mysql

Hi!
I have installed mysql on a machin with windows xp proffesional. It started ok after the first installation. After restart of the computer there is no resond. It seems like win xp don't permit it to start anymore. I have administrators right to the system. I have tried to reinstall several times without any luck.

Server start when i take away the my.cnf file from the root of C:/. Some settings in my.cnf seems to cause this problem.
