MySQL hostname

Again sorry for asking the same question. Could I know the hostname of MySQL located at www.tripod.co.uk?db.lycos.co.uk didn't get it worked.Or can I track it by using phpinfo()? It's because I'm going to connect it to external server. Thank you very much.

Have your tried localhost many places default to localhost as the host address.

You will probably find that the mysql database is local to the server (i.e. localhost). However, most MySql providers restrict access to purely connections from the localhost. This means you probably won't be able to connect to from an external server.
