How can i load the GD library?

How can i load the GD library so i can use it's functions...?
i am badly needing to use it, i already changed the php.ini extension thing but when i try to start a page with php after that the only thing i see are msgbox errors saying he cant find the damn library...but i have it...where am i suposed to have it?

Im assuming you use windows... put it in the extensions directory that is also specified in your php.ini file. If you read the comments in the ini file, it explains it very well!
