Can anybody help.
I've never used PHP before but I've found a login and password script I want to use and have no idea how to get it to work. The script has three parts 'form.php', 'accesslist.php' and 'names.php. The way it is supposed to work is the form file brings up 2 boxes. I for the name and 1 for the password. The names and passwords are held in the names file. The accesslist file brings up an access denied message if the name/password is wrong.
I have dreamweaver and I opened up the form.php file that I originally saved in notebook and then viewed it in IE6. The login and password boxes I wanted came up but when I put in a name and password to test the form the script didn't run.
I found a php installation download on this site and downloaded it to c:/. The php.ini file is in the Windows directory and the php4ts.dll file is in Windows/System directory.
I turned off pws to install the file but pws now won't start up at all.
So, how can I get pws back on again and what else do I need to do to get php to work and how can I test it. Also when I've tested it here how do I upload to my ISP's server.
Any help you can give me greatly appreciated.
If php is going to be too difficult for a novice is there any other way I can get a password login for my site.
