Decode Zend Encoded Scripts ?

Hello,

I read on PHP Obscuror that once the scripts are encoded, a good hacker or developer can simply decode your encoded scripts. Wonder how and is it really possible ? Zend Encoder encodes your scripts and it uses a key to decode them. So the person need that key to decode the script, doesn't he ?
