Encrypting/Encoding PHP scripts

Hi,

I would like to encrypt/encode php scripts. As zend encoder is too costly, I want know know what the alternatives are. I have found one called PHPGuardian (http://www.phpguardian.com) which is much cheaper. The software looks promising to me but I want to get opinions from anyone who has used it. Also let me know if anyone has used it for high traffic scripts. Are there any other alternatives available? Let me know.
