Access Project with mySQL

Can an Access Project be used with mySQL instead of MS SQL server in a reliable fashion? Is it at all possible, if so is there a speed tradeoff? It would be used by a high traffic web site where speed and reliability is an issue.

Not sure this is what you want, but this is a great article:

Learn it from start to finish. Installing MyODBC, creating a new data
source through the ODBC Data Source Administrator, linking a MySQL
database into a new MS Access database, and finally updating the MySQL
database through an MS Access GUI.

Using this in production is NOT recommended, since there are known bugs in myODBC specifically in the way it interfaces with Access.

(Though it might work as long as you use the simplest of INSERT, UPDATE and SELECT statements, and stick to standard [i.e. non-Access specific] SQL.)

In my experience, Access is a lousy backend for any but the most trivial applications; it increases your chances of data corruption by orders of magnitude.
